On October 4th, 2015 Facing Addiction launched by staging The Unite to Face Addiction rally on the National Mall. Tens of thousands of people came to the Nation’s Capital for a remarkable concert to raise awareness for addiction and recovery. It was the first time major musicians, politicians, athletes, journalists and authors came together in support of the 45 million Americans and their families affected by addiction to alcohol and other drugs.

Since our launch we have remained committed to amplifying the voice of all affected by addiction through hosting and staging a variety of different events. Take some time to learn more about how we work to increase the public visibility of addiction issues:

10.04.15 UNITE Event – Our initial launch event with speeches by the U.S. Surgeon General, and performances by Joe Walsh, Steven Tyler, Sheryl Crow, The Fray, and many others.

Democratic & Republican National Conventions – Last summer, Facing Addiction made history when we hosted the first Caucus for Addiction Solutions at the Republican National Convention. Then in Philadelphia, we hosted the Educational Caucus for Addiction Solutions.

Facing Addiction Across America: A Web Series – Chronicling the journey of two best friends as they travel from their home state of California to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Concert to Face Addiction – The Concert to Face Addiction began airing on public television around the country in late September 206 and ran in major markets through November 2016.

The Surgeon General Event – On 11.17.16, we co-hosted a national summit in Los Angeles with U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy as he released Facing Addiction in America: The Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health.
