Over 1500 activists have signed up to enact change in their local communities.
National advocacy initiatives work because local people are willing to rise up and voice the stories that impact communities. Since we launched Facing Addiction in October 2015 with the UNITE to Face Addiction Rally, hundreds of people have asked how they can get involved, how they can help further advocate for prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery.
We’re thrilled to offer the Facing Addiction Activist Program, a direct and personalized way to plug into volunteer opportunities that will help turn the tide on the addiction crisis in your community.
As a Facing Addiction Activist, you have the opportunity to:
- Deliver our news and messages at local events in your community
- Help organize and participate in ongoing grassroots calls to action, including petition signing, calling legislators, submitting letters to the editor and other activities as they arise
- Serve as eyes and ears in your community, watching for key news clips and keeping us informed about how the addiction crisis is being covered locally
We hope you will consider becoming a Facing Addiction Activist today. If you have questions, please contact [email protected].
